How you’ll make a difference:

The main responsibilities of the Processing Assistant include all aspects of the daily care of medicine from harvest to packaging; monitoring weights and measurements; presentation; and maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and sterility inside the processing area

  • Assists in harvesting, processing and packaging finished product
  • Keeps accurate records on each plant using Company system and protocols
  • Records and tracks accurate weights and measurements of product throughout the processing and packaging procedures using company systems and protocols
  • Maintains a clean, safe environment inside the processing area
  • Inspects medicine for defects using a variety of magnification tools
  • Calibrates, operates, cleans and stores packaging equipment including heat sealers, etc.
  • Prints and applies labels to finished product; stores and inventories finished product according to Company policy and as directed by the Inventory Manager or Director of Operations
  • Other duties may be assigned

Skills to be Successful (minimum qualifications):

  • Must at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years post-secondary education in biology or chemistry preferred
  • Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritize
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to focus; attention to detail
  • Skill at using computers
  • Mechanical skill
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate clearly and calmly
  • Ability to remain calm in periods of high stress or unusual activity

Schedule:

  • 24 hours per week

  • Must be able to work quickly but efficiently, while maintaining the integrity of the product.
  • Light to moderate lifting of up to 50 lbs.; heavier weights with assistance.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Repetitive motions and understanding of lab equipment.
  • Must wear company-provided lab coats, hair/beard nets, gloves, surgical masks and safety glasses/ goggles/ splash shield, while working in the lab.
  • Must adhere to facility general hygiene requirements.
  • Must have reliable transportation
