Educational Qualifications: Master's Degree or Higher
License/Certification: Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Experience: At least one year of experience working with children

Job Responsibilities/ Requirements:
The Therapist will help ensure the safety, security, and overall well-being of the children at Bluebonnet Haven.
The Therapist is responsible for the treatment services that our children receive including individual, group, and family therapy as required. The therapist is a member of the Treatment Team and will provide insight into current treatment services being provided, client progress, and treatment services moving forward. The Therapist will be present on the floor (throughout the BH grounds) when possible during crisis episodes. When possible the therapist will process with the child and with staff after restraints occur.
The Therapist will be responsible for completing all therapy sessions and submitting all completed paperwork as required. When necessary, the therapist will submit all required billing paperwork.
The Therapist will be responsible for conducting the diagnostic needs assessment within 30 days of placement for each child.
The Therapist will utilize the TBRI® and Satori training they have received in order to help manage behavioral concerns in our children. The TBRI® principles of empowerment, connecting, and correcting will be used continuously throughout the daily routines of our children and the de-escalation and restraint techniques of Satori will be used as needed with our children to help to better control crisis situations.
The Therapist must maintain professional boundaries with all Bluebonnet Haven employees and demonstrate professional and courteous working relationships with all Bluebonnet Haven employees and all outside entities.
The Therapist must at all times demonstrate professional, healthy boundaries with the children at Bluebonnet Haven.
The Therapist must adhere to Bluebonnet Haven's Confidentiality Policies.
All employees of Bluebonnet Haven are considered mandated reporters of suspected child abuse or neglect as required by law. The Therapist must understand and adhere to Bluebonnet Haven's policy for documenting and reporting any suspected child abuse or neglect.
A BH employee's behavior or health status must not present a danger to children in care. Each employee must:
1. Meet the requirements in Minimum Standards relating to Background Check;
2. Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB;
3. Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks;
4. Complete a notarized Licensing Affidavit for Applicants of Employment form, as specified in Human Resources Code, §42.059.
Regardless of whether the employee is counted in the child/caregiver ratio, each employee must:
1. In the absence of a more specific rule requirement, demonstrate competency, prudent judgment, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities;
2. Report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation to the Child Abuse Hotline and to the LCCA; All staff will receive pre-service training and annual training in reporting suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
3. Know and comply with rules of this chapter, Chapter 42 of the Human Resources Code, Chapter 745 of Minimum Standards (relating to Licensing), and any other laws which are relevant to the person's duties; The HR Director will review and explain all pertinent information with each new hire and annual training will review this information.
