Job Summary
Assists in coordinating regional training activities as part of the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (RBNERR) Coastal Training Program (CTP). Facilitates working groups, assist with the identification and coordination of science translation to provide information, training and tools to diverse coastal decision-makers. Assists with community needs assessments, engagement and collaboration with key partners, and provides assistance with the overall activities within the CTP program and overall needs within FIU or RBNERR

Job Summary
Assists in coordinating regional training activities as part of the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (RBNERR) Coastal Training Program (CTP). Facilitates working groups, assist with the identification and coordination of science translation to provide information, training and tools to diverse coastal decision-makers. Assists with community needs assessments, engagement and collaboration with key partners, and provides assistance with the overall activities within the CTP program and overall needs within FIU or RBNERR
- Assists with training programs for decision-makers and environmental professionals ranging from seminars and workshops to field-based courses and distance-learning forums tailored to regional needs.
- Assists with facilitated processes for decision-makers and environmental professionals ranging from working groups and meetings to stakeholder input for collaborative research.
- Maintains partnerships and relations with stakeholders and networks to achieve the Reserve's mission and the Program's goals, consistent with the RBNERR management plan.
- Assists with maintaining the CTP portion of the Rookery Bay website and/or marketing CTP events including registration for training events.
- Assists with needs assessments of the science-based knowledge, skills gaps and needs of coastal decision-makers and environmental professionals.
- Collects data to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and facilitated processes. Inputs data to internal databases and the NOAA CTP Performance measures database.
- Keeps current on Reserve initiatives, goals, and issues and helps maintain aspects of effective Reserve operations by attending meetings and participating in other Reserve organizational/educational activities.
- Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
- High school diploma or GED required and five (5) years of experience in the area of responsibility, or a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in related field.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Adept at public speaking and presenting information in a logical, clear, and concise manner.
- Demonstrated experience using a personal computer, office and communication related software such as MS Office, Zoom, FareHarbor, and Webpage management software.
- Ability to organize multi-faceted programs and events with special attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
- Knowledge of techniques to conduct needs assessments, evaluate education programs, develop and educational classes, maintain advertisements and electronic registration pages, and coordinate classes for professional natural resource managers.
