Payroll Applications & Data Analyst
The George Mason University, Payroll Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Payroll Applications & Data Analyst.

Responsibilities:
- Works with the functional areas to understand business processes and then helps users become more efficient and effective in using Banner and associated systems;
- Assists in resolving technical issues that may arise within Banner and other related Payroll systems;
- Assists with the creation and maintenance of documentation of Payroll processes, including training manual to be used by employees for Payroll transactions;
- Fulfills Payroll report requests by evaluating incoming requests against existing canned reports, enhancements to existing reports, or development of new reports;
- Creates standard and complex queries against Oracle, Banner forms, and all respective inclusive structures;
- Develops effective and efficient solutions for end-user data extracts used for decision-making;
- Acts as departmental liaison with the Fiscal Service Project Team. In this role, assists with various project management activities which includes collecting user requirements, writing functional specifications; and testing end-to-end solutions in partnership with the end-user community; and
- Works collaboratively with IT staff and other departments to establish test and production schedules for the implementation of system enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience;
- Experience working with project management and system development lifecycles, including testing of system releases, patches, and upgrades;
- Ability to understand complex relational database designs;
- Demonstrates a combination of systems, data, and business analysis skills; and
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical staff clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Ellucian Banner or similar ERP;
- Experience working with data related to Human Resources and/or Payroll; and
- BA computer information systems preferred.
