Job Description
The Program Manager in the Division of Research and Innovation, under general direction from the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures for the administration of strategic initiatives, and ongoing projects, programs.
Responsibilities:
Project Management: Assist Research Administration to plan short and long term projects and programs across the unit with targets, milestones, deadlines and coordinating resources to employees best positioned to complete them. Regularly collect data, build dashboard-type reports, perform quality control and identify potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects. Serve as point of contact to coordinate activities across multiple units.
Partnership Management: Assist Research Administration to manage external relationships with partners to execute initiatives and programs effectively. Champion and manage new projects to create stronger partnerships. Build the organizational network by through targeted outreach and strong project planning. Liaise with partners to solve issues, communicate needs and create synergy. Analyze and report on partner initiatives, forecast for strategic changes and report on key metrics.
Business Management: Plans, organizes, directs and manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures, projects, programs in business and HR related operations in Research Administration.
Office Management: Assists Research Administration to organize, direct and manage day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures, projects, programs in office operations, administrative activities, scheduling, travel, purchasing, facilities, IT and departmental events.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree.
Five years of related experience in program management including related supervisory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
