The Music Department at Skidmore College is seeking part-time Visiting Instructors in 2024-25 to teach violin and/or viola (studio instruction). Other possible assignments include chamber music coaching and direction of a String Ensemble, depending on departmental need and the experience and inclination of the appointee(s).

Applicants should submit: a letter of application, cv, recordings, contact information for three references (who will only be contacted at a later stage of the search), and sample syllabi. Letters of application should clearly state: the applicant's interest in liberal-arts education and in Skidmore in particular; the applicant's understanding of, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Application review will begin on May 6th and will continue until filled. MM in Performance or equivalent experience and previous college level teaching preferred.

Pay Rate:

$1073.80 per student per semester for thirteen 60-minute lessons each

$805.35 per student per semester for thirteen 45-minute lessons each
