Fleet & Facilities Assistant
The Truckee Fire Protection District is seeking candidates for the position of Fleet and Facilities Assistant. The Position Under supervision of the Fleet & Facilities Director performs automotive and facility maintenance and repair to support the daily operation of the Fire District shop functions. This position works a 40-hour work week.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Fleet and Facilities Director with a full range of automotive and facility maintenance and repair including but not limited to: auto parts pick up, light vehicle maintenance including: oil and filter changes, vehicle brakes, cleaning vehicle underside with steam cleaner, brushes and chemicals, and tire rotations, facility maintenance, light construction projects, ability to work with fire crews on a daily basis, as well as, station and hydrant snow removal. Compensation Salary rates effective January 1, 2022 $4,541.00/monthly - $5,138.00/monthly Probationary Period • 2 years Minimum Required
Qualifications Knowledge/Skills • basic automotive knowledge • basic knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems • basic welding skills • basic construction knowledge • understanding of various maintenance shop tools. Driver’s License • Valid driver license with a clean driving record. Other • Must be18 years of age or older. • Must possess a High School diploma or GED.
Must be willing to: • Obtain CPR/First Aid certification during probation. • Attend CSFM and other fire maintenance related schools • Obtain Fire Apparatus Operator 1A and 1B certification.
