Job Summary
This position may be eligible for remote work for candidates with prior research administration experience.
The University of Kentucky is excited to announce a new position in the Collaborative Grant Services ( CGS) office/unit of the Vice President of Research. This position is the result of a nearly year-long initiative to enhance administrative support for sponsored research at the University by providing high-quality, customer-service focused, and compliant research administration support to a large and varied group of investigators – faculty, staff, and students who are involved in innovative research across numerous disciplines, creating, discovering, and exploring the most complex problems facing Kentucky, our nation and the world.
We invite you to join us as a Pre Award Team Lead. In this role, they will support the Pre Award Manager and Pre Award Assistant Director. They will provide daily oversight and supervision of a pre-award team of four-six members within CGS. This individual must demonstrate an expert level of understanding of sponsor project proposal submission processes and associated university and sponsor policies. They will serve as first point of contact for compliance review for CGS pre-award sponsored research activity and must have project management skills to support research administration activities for large/complex proposal submissions.
This individual will serve as a subject matter expert in grant management processes and a resource/advisor for pre-award team members for CGS processes and procedures. This includes developing and conducting training programs for team members on internal and external policies and procedures specific to sponsored projects.
Multiple positions available.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SAP. NIH eRA Commons preferred.

Yes
Preferred Education/Experience
Master's degree or equivalent plus five years related experience. Working knowledge of federal grant and academic institution sponsored research regulations. Certified Research Administrator ( CRA) preferred.
