Senior Advancement Coordinator

The University of Chattanooga Foundation (UCF) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Senior Advancement Coordinator for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Development, the Senior Advancement Coordinator is responsible for supports fundraising, engagement, and donor relations activities for UTC Advancement.

The Senior Development Coordinator will support donor cultivation, engagement, and stewardship activities; manage projects related to giving programs and campaigns; and serve as a liaison between the Advancement team, academic deans and campus partners. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Donor Engagement & Stewardship:
  • Develop and execute personalized cultivation, engagement, and stewardship activities for prospects in conjunction with advancement leadership, development officers, and other staff.
  • Develop internal and external written communication pieces, including letters, proposals, and presentations.
  • Track engagement and stewardship data; run routine reports.
  • Support event planning; staff advancement events as needed.
Project Management:
  • Coordinate with advancement team to execute giving program and campaign activities, including tracking, reporting, prospect research, volunteer coordination.
  • Manage program and campaign activities to ensure benchmarks and deliverables are met in a timely and accurate manner.
Communication & Collaboration:
  • Coordinate routine communications and meetings with deans and campus partners on behalf of the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor.
  • Coordinate special projects involving advancement and campus partners, including but not limited to proposal development, campaign operations, and stewardship activities, as requested by the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor, advancement leadership and development officers.

Qualifications :

Required Education and Experience

The candidate who fills the Senior Advancement Assistant position is required to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 or more years of advanced administrative experience
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, as well as the ability to learn and use a variety of data; must be comfortable working with financial data.
  • Demonstrated research and editorial skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize information and compose clear and effective materials.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple complex projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of donors, faculty, and staff. Must have a donor-focused attitude.
Preferred Education and Experience

In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience preferred in advancement, higher education, or other non-profit or people-oriented field.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and be a self-starter.
  • Ability and willingness to engage in continuous learning and training.
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism, self-confidence, initiative, dependability, and discipline.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and paying attention to detail.
